Gilroy is the southernmost city in Santa Clara Country. Gilroy has become famous for its garlic growth and its garlic-related annual festivals. It has earned the nickname of "Garlic Capital of the World". Gilroy enjoys a mild climate year-long, ranging from 90.2F in summer to 33.6F in winter. Snowfall is rare too. In Summer, the town gets to witness the coastal fogs, which arrive from the ocean around 10pm and dissipate the next morning at around 10am. The latest estimates put the population of Gilroy as 51,173 in 2008. 

 
Gilroy Gardens is a beautiful amusement Park in Gilroy and is the only theme park with a horticultural theme. Micheal Bonfante is the creator and designer of this park and he educates all his guests about nature and how man can shape nature. This place is perfect for families with young children. It has 21 rides, 27 attractions, 6 beautiful gardens and the world famous Circle Trees 

Gilroy Golf Course
This Golf course is considered the best 11 hole golf course in the U.S. It gives visitors a feeling of peaceful serenity away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. It has gone through very few changes since it was built in 1923 and has maintained its classic design. The small undulating greens and wide tree lines are great for golfing. Gilroy Golf Course has an on-site barbecue too, which makes it suitable for corporate and charity golf outings. This course has hosted several major tournaments from groups like the special Olympics, Lockheed, California Highway Patrol, etc. The daily fees are very reasonable and the yearly fees are even more attractive.

Gilroy Garlic Festival
The Gilroy Garlic Festival is a three day event which keeps getting more attendants each year. The revenue from this festival is also used to help non-profit organizations in the area. The three day festival offers lot of tasty food, arts and crafts displays and even live entertainment, and is held in the Christmas Hill Park, Gilroy CA, just 30 miles south of San Jose off Highway 101. The festival is held in an outdoors park. Plenty of tables and benches are laid out, and the trees provide some nice natural shade. Visitors can also visit the Gourmet Alley, in which the chefs share their recipes with the visitors in cooking lessons and also offer you a taste of their delicious dishes.

Henry W. Coe State Park
Coe Park, as it is also known as, is the largest state park in Northern California. This park offers more than 87,000 acres of wide open space. The terrain is rugged with ridges and steep canyons and looks beautiful. There's lot of wildlife to be found here, including the rare mountain lion. There's also a huge variety of plants to be found here. The headwaters of the Cayote Creek lies within this park, as do long stretches of the Pacheco and Orestimba creek. The park is open year-round for hikers, mountain bikers, backpackers, equestrians, car campers, picnickers, photographers, and people who simply like to visit parks.

Eagle Ridge Golf Club
What's special about this golf course is its rolling-layout setting within foothills that are oak-studded. This setting is delightful to play golf in. The 18 holes of this golf course have been carefully designed so as to incorporate the features of the land and also offer spectacular views. It has six sets of tee boxes. The greens are multi-tired and there's a total of 92 bunkers, three lakes and two holes and creeks on seven holes. This course has received a "For Star Rating" by Golf Digest Magazine. It has also been named among the to 50 woman friendly courses and is on of the top ten golf courses in the Silicon Valley.

Hecker Pass Winery
Hecker Pass Winery has a family history of producing great wines with  true Italian character. They have 15 years of experience and history in wine making behind them. The family began wine making in the early 1800s in Italy. Mario is the third-generation of the family and he learnt his skills from his great-grandfather and brought those skills from Italy to California. The tasting room is open daily from 9 in the morning to 5pm in the evening for tasting and buying.

The Bright Ranch
The Bright Ranch is a functional ranch, nestled nicely in the foothills and vineyard of Southern Santa Clara in the small town of San Martin. This is a family-owned business and they offer visitors to come and enjoy the various horsemanship services. They have a signature line of custom western saddles and training services that have been shaped and influenced by their passion and rich experience with horses. The ranch also has a horsemanship academy which provides horseback riding instruction to the clients. The academy also offers in-depth training on the art of horsemanship. The academy offers several distinct programs, each designed for different horsemanship requirements and different groups of students. 

Chitactac-Adam's  Country Park
The Santa Clara Country Parks is located just minutes away from the cities of Gilroy and Morgan Hill. The beautiful Uvas Creek runs through this park. The park is also culturally significant and a number of artifacts can be found here, including bedrock mortars and petroglypsh left by the Ohlone Indians. The park includes a self-guided interpretive walk and an interpretive shelter focusing on Ohlone Indian culture.

Gilroy Bowl: A Place to Eat, Drink and Play
This is a great fun place for the entire family to eat, drink, play bowl and have a fun day. They have a daily bowling schedule with Monday evenings reserved for the Old Timers League. Every Tuesday from 11am to 2pm is reserved for Senior Citizens over the age of 55 to practice for 1.25$ a game. Also, every Saturday is karaoke night. The restaurant is great, and serves American, Mexican, Oriental and Hawaiian Foods. This is a great place for holiday Parties, birthday parties and business parties as well.

Soney Bae Golf Center
Soney Bae, the owner of this golf center was born in Tokyo, Japan. He educated himself in the United Kingdom and the United States. Bae has been a golf professional for 15 years before taking the golf range business in Gilroy.They have a 60 yard chipping area and offer golf lessons too. Three sand bunkers with putting greens are also available. The center is open 7 days a week from 10am to 9pm
