I don’t mind being connected with a call service center in another country.  I have dealt with a number of off shore call centers that are very easy to work with, and they have done a great job handing my issues. 

Recently I called the customer service center of a large national real estate services company with whom I have been a customer for many years.  The main office is in California, but the company recently hired an off shore company to provide customer service. 

Now, any call placed to the company is routed to the off shore call center.  The only calls that are forwarded to the main office in California are sales related.  The company’s website has removed all service related email and direct dial contact information.  

This became an important recently when an issue arose that threatened interruption to my service.  The call center could not offer a solution, and refused to provide a phone number or email for the California office. 

Luckily, I had an old phone number to the sales department and resolved the issue.  However, at one time our company was assigned a personal sales representative that would handle any such issues.  Now this service is only offered to "large" companies.  

Hmmm, , , excuse me for owning a "small" business. 

Tell me, why does "main street" keep taking a back seat to "wall street?”
