How do you search for a business?  Most likely you ask a friend and then search the web.  Does anybody use that heavy, dusty, hard to read phonebook anymore?  Why bother when you can pull out your smart phone and search while sipping coffee and chatting with friends.  

Over the years the cost of my yellow page adds went from hundreds to thousands of dollars, and, at the same time most of us quit using the phone book!   I have shifted my time and money away from yellow pages to business webpages, Facebook, ActiveRain, LinkedIn, Twitter and blogosphere. 

The really cool thing is that most of these websites and blogs are free or very inexpensive, and are easy to create and maintain.  Time is needed of course, on a regular basis.  If you are not computer savvy there are a host of vendors who will maintain your sites for you at a reasonable cost.
